UPPER PLENTY HALL NEWS (The Shack) March 2012

UPPER PLENTY HALL NEWS (The Shack)

Our water supply problems are now resolved. It seems that both water pipes (storm water to the tank and water supply to the hall) were broken during installation of the playground. Fortunately we have had some good rain since the repair so our water supply is good once again. Thanks to Nick & Neil at Mitchell Shire Council for getting this sorted promptly.

We have started a terrific volunteer incentive scheme called FRIENDS OF THE SHACK. If you collect 10 volunteer hours in a year you are entitled to hire the Shack free for a day or evening. What a great deal! If you don’t like gardening there are opportunities to do cleaning, maintenance, and various other odd jobs. Give me a call or email if you are interested.

Although the hall has been back in use since October we will be having the “Official Opening” on Sunday March 18th, 12 – 2pm so that politicians and VBRRA officials can see what we have done with the money donated to the Bushfire Appeal Fund. There will be a light lunch (finger food) at 1.00pm. Among those invited are our local Councillors, State & Federal representatives, the Victorian Deputy Prime Minister, & Christine Nixon. All Upper Plenty residents are also invited (children welcome). Please RSVP to Hayley on 0418 282 701 or Rose 5783-1661.
