Shack refurbishments status
We hope by the time you read this our refurbishments will be complete. Predictably, there have been delays and the floor sanding & polishing will be delayed a week, now to be completed around November 17th. The lino for the kitchen & store room should be laid soon after. Of course, there will still be a number of other items to complete, such as the bistro blinds for the outdoor area, shade sails for the play area, installation of the new fixed BBQ, and internal blinds. I’m sure we will also have a few “teething” problems to come as we settle in to our refurbished hall.
The Pizza & Old-Time Movie Night 4th November 2011,
was great fun, although the younger children preferred the fabulous new playground to movie watching. The playground is proving to be a huge hit with the children and it is getting plenty of use.

Local Wandong author, Dr Lou Drofenik,
will be reading from her most recent novel and signing copies for purchasers.
“Dr. Lou Drofenik won the 2008 National Book Council Award in Malta for her novel In
Search of Carmen Caruana. This award was given for the best fiction published in 2007 in
a language other than Maltese.” Quote from Mitchell Shire Arts Advisory Council Newsletter February 2009.
There will be children’s entertainment, plant giveaways, live music, and a free sausage sizzle at lunch time.
There will also be an Upper Plenty Trivia Quiz so start studying now! It should be a great day – put it on your calendar now before Christmas events take over.
